Job summary

BVi Consulting Engineers Western Cape has an opening for an IT Support Technician in our Cape Town office. This permanent role focuses on providing reliable IT support to staff, maintaining hardware, software, user accounts and access-control systems.

Key duties include managing Microsoft 365 and Autodesk administrative consoles, assisting with workstation setup, and supporting conferencing, printing, and network services while ensuring security and confidentiality.

To provide reliable and efficient IT support to the IT Technician and employees by maintaining and troubleshooting hardware, software, user accounts, network and access-control systems. The IT Support Technician is responsible for ensuring that employees have the necessary IT equipment, systems and technical assistance to perform their duties effectively, while maintaining a high standard of service, security and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Access control management (biometric & FRD scanner)
• Desktop/laptop support for Windows 7/8/10/11 & MS office (2016 – Microsoft 365)
• End user support/relocation
• Inventory management
• Microsoft 365 Admin console experience (user accounts) and license management
• Autodesk Admin console (user accounts & license management)
• Other general IT support when needed
• Printer support, knowledge in Printing Management Software
• Software and hardware support/troubleshooting/repair/maintenance
• Software installations/PC Configurations
• User account management
• Video/Audio conferencing support
• Working with Active directory
• Workstation setup (format & reinstall)

Key Qualifications:

• Grade 12 Essential.
• Qualification in either CompTia A+; CompTIA N+ or CompTIA Server+/MCSA: Windows Server 2012/2016/2022
• 3 year’s experience in IT support role
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical people
• Excellent communication-, prioritizing-, organizational- and interpersonal skills
