Job summary

SET Consulting is seeking an IT Manager to lead and execute the enterprise IT strategy, governance, and operations. You will own the lifecycle of enterprise apps, integration between ServiceNow, Sage 300, and Google Workspace, and manage Azure infrastructure and security.

The role emphasizes aligning IT roadmaps with business objectives, ensuring data integrity, and delivering reliable end-user experiences across divisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences or related field.
• Knowledge of Azure, security, and governance best practices is desirable.
• Experience with IT strategy, governance, and enterprise architecture.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a 3–5 year enterprise IT strategy.
• Align IT roadmap with corporate and commercial objectives.
• Establish governance frameworks aligned to ISO, ITIL, and best practices.
• Own end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise applications and ensure tight integration between systems.
• Drive automation and digitisation of business processes.
• Ensure data consistency and integrity across platforms.
• Architect and manage Azure workloads and identity/security controls.
• Oversee IT service delivery, incident, problem, and change management (via ServiceNow).
• Define and enforce cybersecurity strategy and risk management.

The IT manager is responsible for defining and executing the enterprise IT strategy that underpins the company’s corporate, commercial, and operational functions. This role has full accountability for:

• Enterprise applications
• IT infrastructure and cloud platforms
• Data governance
• Cyber security and IT service delivery

About the Role

• ServiceNow (ITSM, workflow automation, service management)
• Google Workspace (collaboration, email, identity)
• Microsoft Azure (infrastructure, compute, identity, security)
• Sage 300 (finance, procurement, reporting)

Job Responsibilities

IT Strategy & Governance

• Define and execute a 3-5 year enterprise IT strategy
• Align IT Road map with corporate and commercial objectives
• Establish governance frameworks aligned to ISO, ITIL, and best practice standards
• Act as the custodian of enterprise architecture and standard

Enterprise Applications & Integration

• Own the end-to-end life cycle of all enterprise applications
• Ensure tight integration between:
  • ITSM / workflow platforms (ServiceNow)
  • ERP systems (Sage 300)
  • Collaboration and identity platforms (Google Workspace)
  • Cloud data and application platforms (Azure)
• Drive automation and digitisation of business processes
• Ensure data consistency and integrity across systems

Cloud & Infrastructure (Azure-Centric)

• Architect and manage enterprise workloads on Azure:
  • Virtual machines and application hosting
  • Identity and access (Entra ID)
  • Secure connectivity and services
• Ensure high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery capability
• Optimize cloud cost, performance, and scalability

IT Operations & Service Delivery

• Own enterprise IT service delivery across all business units
• Establish and maintain:
  • SLAs / OLAs
  • Incident, problem, and change management processes (via ServiceNow)
• Ensure consistent, reliable end-user experience
• Oversee collaboration tools, endpoints, and user support services

Cyber security & Risk Management

• Define and enforce enterprise cyber security strategy:
  • Identity and access management
  • Endpoint and cloud security
  • Data protection and governance
• Ensure compliance with:
  • POPIA
  • Internal security policies
  • Industry best practices (ISO 27001 aligned)

Qualifications
