Job summary

Schlemmer in Pinetown is seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead the IT function and align technology with business objectives. This role focuses on driving digital transformation, ensuring stability, security, and efficiency of IT systems and infrastructure.

You will develop and execute the IT strategy, manage budgets and vendor relationships, oversee ERP and OT systems, and lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an IT management role.
• Proven experience managing ERP systems in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, and cybersecurity.
• Experience with cloud platforms, virtualization and software development.
• Exposure to manufacturing OT is advantageous.
• Experience with JDE ERP systems would be beneficial.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy across cloud, OT and data.
• Lead, mentor, and manage the IT team to drive performance.
• Oversee IT operations, infrastructure and support services.
• Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, contracts and SLAs.
• Drive and deliver IT projects within scope and timelines.
• Ensure cybersecurity, data integrity and disaster recovery readiness.
• Oversee ERP systems upgrades, integrations and vendor support.
• Implement IT policies, procedures and best practices.
• Support digital transformation and process automation initiatives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver effective solutions.
• Monitor system performance and resolve issues proactively.
• Prepare reports for executive leadership and committees.
• Ensure IT governance, audits and risk management compliance.
