Placements24 is seeking an Irrigation Technician to manage and maintain advanced irrigation systems across agricultural sites around Paarl in a hybrid role.

You will install, operate, maintain, and repair drip and sprinkler systems, ensuring efficient water delivery and compliance with best practices in water management. The role blends fieldwork with planning and reporting in occasional office settings.

Qualifications

• Experience installing, maintaining, and repairing irrigation systems in agriculture.
• Familiar with drip and sprinkler methods and related equipment.
• Understanding of water management and conservation.
• Ability to read irrigation schematics and plans.
• Capable of independent and team work in varying weather around Paarl.

Responsibilities

• Install and service irrigation systems, including pumps, pipes, valves, and emitters.
• Diagnose leaks and blockages, perform repairs.
• Program and monitor automated controllers and sensors.
• Conduct water audits and implement conservation strategies.
• Maintain records of performance, repairs, and water usage.
