Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a hands-on Agricultural Technician to support operations in Paarl. The role covers crop monitoring, soil sampling, equipment maintenance and data collection to optimize farm productivity and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Agriculture or related field.
• 1-2 years practical agricultural experience.
• Basic understanding of crop growth cycles, soil science, pests and diseases.
• Ability to operate basic farm equipment safely.
• Data recording and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in irrigation scheduling and monitor water usage.
• Conduct routine soil sampling and basic analysis.
• Monitor crops for pests, diseases or nutrient deficiencies and report observations.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on farm machinery.
• Assist with planting, cultivation and harvesting operations as directed.
• Collect and record data on crop growth and environmental conditions.
