Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a meticulous Warehouse Stock Controller for Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on maintaining precise inventory data, preventing stockouts, and ensuring efficient warehouse operations. You will work closely with the logistics team to uphold stock accuracy and optimize stock rotation.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in inventory control, experience with WMS, and strong Excel skills. A high school diploma and a logistics-related certification are advantageous.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in inventory control within a warehouse.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks to verify stock accuracy.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
• Monitor stock levels, identify shortages or excesses, and report findings to management.
• Oversee receiving and dispatch processes to ensure proper documentation and data entry.
• Implement and enforce inventory control procedures and best practices.
• Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and recommend actions.
• Ensure proper storage and handling to prevent damage or loss.
• Generate inventory reports including stock aging, valuation, and turnover rates.
• Collaborate with warehouse team to ensure efficient stock rotation (FIFO/LIFO) where applicable.
