Job summary

Invisionhr in Cape Town is seeking an enthusiastic Internal Sales Consultant to join our team, specialising in Food Service and Catering Equipment. The role covers showroom and digital sales, assisting customers in person and via WhatsApp, web chat, social media, email and phone, with a focus on converting enquiries into sales.

You will understand customer needs, prepare quotations, manage orders, coordinate deliveries and help grow sales targets.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience in a sales or customer-facing role.
• Experience in showroom, retail, digital or technical sales.
• Experience with Food Service, Catering, Hospitality or similar equipment would be advantageous.
• Strong ability to convert customer enquiries into sales.
• Experience preparing quotations, processing orders and managing sales administration.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Internal Sales Consultant to join our team, specialising in the sales of Food Service and Catering Equipment.

This role is responsible for driving sales and delivering an excellent customer experience across both our showroom and digital sales channels. You will assist customers in person while managing enquiries via WhatsApp, web chat, social media, email and telephone.

The primary focus is converting enquiries into sales by understanding customer needs, recommending suitable products, preparing quotations and proactively following up on opportunities.

• Reports to: Sales Manager
• Location: Stikland, Cape Town
• Schedule: Mon - Thurs (08:00 - 16:30), Fri (08:00 - 16:00)
• Model: Office-Based (Onsite)

Responsibilities

Sales & Customer Engagement

• Manage customer enquiries across the showroom, WhatsApp, web chat, social media, email and telephone.
• Consult with customers to understand their needs and recommend suitable products.
• Convert enquiries into sales through product recommendations, quotations and proactive follow-up.
• Build relationships with existing customers and engage with prospective clients.
• Provide product information, demonstrations and order updates.
• Identify opportunities for cross-selling and repeat business.

Orders & Administration

• Prepare quotations, invoices and other sales documentation.
• Process customer orders and payments.
• Coordinate couriers, deliveries and order fulfilment.
• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, quotations and orders.
• Assist with general sales administration and reporting.

Showroom & Team Support

• Ensure the showroom is presentable, customer-ready and appropriately stocked.
• Keep up to date with products, promotions and relevant market trends.
• Achieve sales and customer service targets.
• Support colleagues and assist across the wider sales team where needed.
• Participate in team meetings and training.

Key Requirements

• At least 1 years' experience in a sales or customer-facing sales role.
• Experience in showroom, retail, digital or technical sales.
• Experience with Food Service, Catering, Hospitality or similar equipment would be advantageous.
• Strong ability to convert customer enquiries into sales.
• Experience preparing quotations, processing orders and managing sales administration.
• Good computer skills, including MS Office or Google Workspace.
• Experience with CRM, chat management or online sales platforms is advantageous.
• South African driver's license.
• Fluent in English; Afrikaans or an additional African language would be advantageous.
