Job summary

Cashbuild Limited in Kokstad, KwaZulu-Natal, is seeking a Cashier (Internal Applications Only) to accurately process Point of Sale transactions and ensure all goods are paid for before leaving the POS. The role requires Grade 12 or 1 year of related experience, strong numeracy, admin skills, and the ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays, while delivering fast, friendly service to customers.

Qualifications

Grade 12 or 1 year related work experience.
Ability to communicate in English and the dominant language spoken in the area.
Ability to perform basic calculations accurately.
Must have strong administration skills.
Willing to work shifts, weekends and Public Holidays.
Must be able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

Balance cash (floats and petty cash) and ensure accurate cash handling.
Identify and capture goods on the POS terminal.
Record the correct payment type received from customers.
Maintain sufficient change at all times.
Ensure daily takings are dropped into the Drop Safe / vault.
Handle cashups accurately at shift end.
Process transactions relating to other stores money, deliveries and quotes correctly.
