Job summary

Staff Solutions Recruitment seeks an Instrumentation Technician to diagnose faults in PLCs, SCADA and instrumentation, and to perform small programming tweaks on PLC/SCADA systems. Calibrate instruments, repair components, and maintain spare parts inventory while following OHS standards.

The role requires significant hands-on maintenance experience, familiar with Profibus and Siemens PLCs, and the ability to document root causes for outages and improvements.

Qualifications

• Instrumentation/controls aptitude and awareness for maintenance
• Ability to troubleshoot PLC/SCADA systems
• Strong documentation and data interpretation skills

Responsibilities

• Fault finding on PLC controls, SCADA software and instrumentation equipment
• Involvement with small scale software changes and programming of PLC/SCADA systems
• Calibrate instrumentation (temperature, pressure, flow)
• Assemble, disassemble and test parts of instruments; repair and troubleshoot
• Audit and maintain spare parts inventory; document instruments
• Provide technical advice on maintenance of equipment
• Assist in contingency planning and planned outages
• Respond to outages promptly and document root causes
• Minimise breakdowns and call outs in area of responsibility
• Ensure tools/equipment are maintained in good condition
• Adhere to OHS Act and client safety requirements
• Execute small programming improvements on PLC/SCADA
