Job summary

Headhunters in Gauteng (Vereeniging area) seeks a skilled Instrumentation & Controls technician to fault-find PLCs and SCADA, calibrate instruments, and support maintenance at multiple regional plants.

Requires a Trade Certificate in controls and instrumentation, 5 years’ post-trade experience (preferably in water treatment), and a valid Code 08 license with willingness to travel and reside near Vereeniging.

Qualifications

• Trade certificate in controls and instrumentation.
• 5 years post trade experience in water treatment preferred.
• Must have valid code 08 license and own transport.
• Willingness to travel and reside near Vereeniging.
• Experience with PLC/SCADA fault finding and programming.

Responsibilities

• Fault find on PLC controls, SCADA, and instrumentation.
• Program small changes to PLC and SCADA systems.
• Calibrate instruments (temperature, pressure, flow).
• Assemble, disassemble and test instrument parts and maintain/repair.
• Assist with small mechanical work and instrument installation.
• Audit and maintain spare parts inventory and documentation for instruments.
• Provide technical advice on maintenance of equipment and machines.
• Assist in contingency planning and planned outages.
