Job summary
Anglo American is seeking an Instrumentation Technician to maintain and calibrate instrumentation within our laboratory operations, ensuring reliable measurement devices and control elements. The role requires hands-on maintenance, safety leadership, and strong liaison with operations to optimise asset availability.
You will support the LIMS system, provide 24/7 maintenance standby, and work within the Processing (PRO) department at Band 7 level.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of maintenance experience in an Iron Ore Laboratory systems environment.
- Experience with Herzog instrumentation systems, such as Weight, Flow, and Level.
- Knowledge of Siemens S7 PLCs and SCADA systems.
- Strong safety, health, and environmental awareness.
- Ability to liaise with operations and projects for technical input.
Responsibilities
- Comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Maintain equipment, machines, processes, and tools to ensure maximum availability.
- Provide 24/7 maintenance support, including overtime and standby duties.
- Support and administer the LIMS system.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders to achieve sectional goals.
- Liaise with stakeholders to offer technical support and input for operations and projects.
