Job summary

Placements24 in Upington is seeking enthusiastic individuals to start an Instrumentation Apprenticeship, offering hands-on training in installation, calibration, maintenance and repair of process control instrumentation used in industrial settings.

Under the guidance of experienced instrument technicians, you will learn to manage sensors, transmitters, control valves and P&IDs while completing theoretical studies.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent with strong math and science marks.
• Interest in electronics, control systems and industrial processes.
• Good problem-solving and analytical thinking.
• Willingness to complete theoretical studies.
• Ability to follow complex procedures and work meticulously.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation and commissioning of instrumentation systems.
• Calibrate and test various measurement and control instruments.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on instrumentation loops.
• Read and interpret P&IDs and technical manuals.
• Ensure safety and compliance with industry standards for instrumentation.
