Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a qualified Instrumentation and Electrical Engineer to join its operational team in Polokwane. You will design, implement and maintain instrumentation and electrical systems across industrial facilities, ensuring accurate measurements and reliable control processes.

You will collaborate with operations, maintenance and engineering teams to optimize system performance, troubleshoot faults, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in instrumentation and electrical engineering in an industrial setting.
• Experience with DCS (Distributed Control Systems) and PLC systems.
• Knowledge of various types of industrial sensors, transmitters, and control valves.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify instrumentation and control systems, including P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams).
• Select and procure appropriate instrumentation, control valves, and electrical components.
• Develop calibration procedures and ensure the accuracy and reliability of measurement instruments.
• Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and electrical system faults.
• Ensure all instrumentation and electrical installations comply with safety regulations and company standards.
