Job summary
Placements24 in Randburg is seeking a specialized Electrical Engineer focusing on Instrumentation and Control systems. You will design, implement, calibrate and maintain sophisticated instrumentation for industrial processes, combining remote analysis with on-site work in a hybrid model.
You will develop PLC/SCADA/DCS solutions, calibrate sensors, and collaborate with process engineers to enhance system performance and reliability across Gauteng projects.
Qualifications
- BEng or BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years in instrumentation and control systems engineering.
- Proficiency in PLC/SCADA/DCS programming and configuration.
- Strong knowledge of Profibus and Modbus protocols.
- Hybrid work with potential site visits.
Responsibilities
- Design and specify instrumentation, control valves, and associated electrical systems.
- Develop and implement PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems for process automation.
- Perform calibration and maintenance of measurement instruments (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow sensors).
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control loops and field instrumentation.
- Prepare technical documentation, including P&IDs, loop diagrams, and instrument lists.
- Collaborate with process engineers and operations teams to improve system performance.
