Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, business management or related field.
• 6+ years in IT project management.
• PMP/PgMP/Agile or Scrum certifications advantageous.

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced IT Project Manager to lead complex, cross-functional technology and business transformation projects from initiation through to successful implementation and review, for our client based in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering projects within approved scope, timelines, budgets, quality standards and resource requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of PMO governance, stakeholder engagement, risk management, business analysis and structured project delivery. You will collaborate with internal teams, business stakeholders, vendors and implementation partners to ensure successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and facilitate requirements-gathering workshops.
• Prepare Statements of Work, business cases and supporting project documentation.
• Manage project and program demand, initiation, planning, execution and closure.
• Develop detailed project plans, define project scope, goals and deliverables.
• Allocate resources and coordinate project activities across cross-functional teams.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, people, dependencies and resource constraints.
• Maintain RAID logs, dashboards and project information to provide real-time visibility.
• Identify project risks and issues early and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Facilitate project meetings, steering committee meetings and stakeholder engagements.
• Develop communication plans and establish an effective communication cadence.
• Prepare project and program status reports for project teams, steering committees and senior leadership.
• Develop test cases and obtain the required stakeholder approvals and sign-off.
• Ensure compliance with PMO governance standards, lifecycle controls, organizational policies and review-board requirements.
• Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders and manage expectations through clear, regular communication.
• Coordinate vendors, implementation partners and other third parties involved in project delivery.
• Support change management, training, business readiness and operational transition activities.
• Complete formal project closure, benefits-realisation reviews, project surveys and lessons-learned activities.
• Hand over the required documentation to helpdesk and support teams.
• Contribute to the rollout and continuous improvement of PMO governance, standards and project controls.
• Participate in calls with regional stakeholders or counterparts across different time zones when required.

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in IT, Business Management or related.
• 6+ years in IT Project Management.
• PMP/PgMP/Agile or Scrum certifications are advantageous.
• Proficient with Project Management software.
• Understanding of PMO Governance and Project Controls.
• Strong Data Analytics and Reporting experience.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid delivery methodologies.
