Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated IT Project Manager to oversee technology-focused projects in Richards Bay. The role requires guiding IT initiatives from initiation to completion, coordinating with IT teams, vendors and business units to deliver high-quality solutions.

Strong experience (5+ years) across software development, infrastructure upgrades and system implementations is essential, with preference for formal PMP/ITIL certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing IT projects including software development, infrastructure upgrades, and system implementations.
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies is required.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced IT Project Manager to oversee technology-focused projects in Richards Bay . This role is integral to the successful implementation of IT strategies, ensuring seamless integration of new systems and technologies across the organization. You will manage projects from initiation to completion, working closely with IT teams, vendors, and business units to achieve project goals efficiently and effectively. This on-site position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality IT solutions within defined parameters, contributing to a stable and advanced technological infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, execute, and finalize IT projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Develop detailed project plans , including scope, timelines, resources, and budget. Manage IT project execution, monitoring progress, identifying risks, and implementing corrective actions. Coordinate and manage all project resources, including internal IT staff and external vendors. Ensure clear and consistent communication with all project stakeholders regarding project status and key decisions.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience managing IT projects , including software development, infrastructure upgrades, and system implementations. Proven experience with project management methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall . Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, software development lifecycles, and network technologies.
