Placements24 seeks an innovative Information Security Architect (Remote-First) to lead the design of a Zero Trust security architecture across cloud and on-prem environments. You will drive security standards, mentor teams, and steer strategic security initiatives with a focus on reducing trust and continually verifying access from Mossel Bay, Western Cape to global teams.

The ideal candidate has 8–10 years in information security, 4–5 years in architecture, and holds advanced security

You will be responsible for architecting security solutions that protect sensitive data and critical systems across diverse environments, including cloud and on-premises infrastructure. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain a comprehensive Zero Trust security architecture for the organization.
• Define security requirements and technical controls for identity and access management, network segmentation, endpoint security, and data protection.
• Evaluate and recommend security technologies and solutions that align with Zero Trust principles and business objectives.
• Collaborate with IT infrastructure, application development, and business teams to integrate security into all aspects of the technology lifecycle.
• Develop security roadmaps and strategies to guide the evolution of the organization's security posture.
• Create detailed architectural designs, standards, and best practices documentation.
• Lead security reviews of proposed solutions and projects, ensuring compliance with security policies and standards.
• Stay abreast of emerging security threats, trends, and technologies, particularly those related to Zero Trust and cloud security.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to security and IT teams.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in information security, with at least 4-5 years focused on security architecture and design.
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing Zero Trust frameworks and principles.
• In-depth knowledge of identity and access management (IAM), including multi-factor authentication (MFA), single sign-on (SSO), and privileged access management (PAM).
• Strong understanding of network security, micro-segmentation, cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP), and endpoint security solutions.
• Experience with security assessment frameworks and risk management methodologies.
• Excellent understanding of security protocols, cryptography, and data protection technologies.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex security initiatives in a remote setting.
• Relevant advanced security certifications such as CISSP-ISSAP, CCSP, or equivalent.
