Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Millwright Technician for an industrial maintenance role in Paarl. You will install, align, and service pumps, motors, gearboxes, and processing equipment while performing preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns.

The ideal candidate has a qualified Millwright trade certification and proven experience in industrial maintenance, with strong hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge and ability to read engineering drawings. Welding/fabrication experience is a plus.

Qualifications

Qualified Millwright with recognized trade certification.
Experience in industrial mechanical maintenance and installation.
Strong understanding of mechanical principles, including power transmission, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and maintenance documentation.
Proficiency with a wide range of hand and power tools, as well as measurement instruments.
Experience with welding and fabrication is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Install, align, and maintain industrial machinery, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, and processing equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance tasks on mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, utilizing appropriate tools and techniques for effective repair.
Read and interpret mechanical blueprints , schematics, and technical manuals.
Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication tasks as required for equipment repair and modification.
Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
