Job summary

MyCareerCraft in Port Elizabeth is seeking a qualified Millwright to join the maintenance team. You will perform routine and preventative maintenance on machinery, diagnose faults, and execute repairs to ensure optimal uptime in an automotive manufacturing setting.

The role requires a recognised Millwright trade certificate, 5+ years of experience, and the ability to work shifts with overtime. A valid SA ID and clear criminal record are essential.

Qualifications

• Recognised Trade Test Certificate Millwright (MERSETA-accredited).
• Matric/Grade 12 with Maths & Science.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Millwright in automotive/manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, weekends and standby duties.
• Clear criminal record and valid South African ID.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and preventative maintenance on machinery and production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults.
• Perform breakdown repairs to reduce downtime.
• Calibrate, install and maintain motors, pumps, conveyors, presses, and production lines.
• Fault-find using PLC systems and basic instrumentation.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Complete job cards, maintenance logs and shift reports accurately.
• Participate in continuous improvement and TPM initiatives.
