Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Technician to ensure reliable operation of mechanical equipment at client sites near Randburg. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on rotating equipment, pumps, valves and compressors, reading drawings and schematics.

The role requires a Trade Qualification (Fitter and Turner or Millwright) with at least 3 years in mechanical maintenance, preferably in industrial or Oil & Gas settings.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues including rotating equipment, pumps, valves, and compressors.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
• Conduct equipment inspections and report findings, recommending repairs or replacements.
• Ensure adherence to Health, Safety and Environment policies during maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and spare parts inventory.
