Placements24 is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician for an on-site role in Upington, Northern Cape. The candidate will handle preventive maintenance, repairs, and commissioning of industrial machinery to keep downtime to a minimum and performance high.

The role requires a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, ability to read schematics, and a proactive approach to safety. Overtime or shift work may be required in this essential facility.

Formación

• Proven industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
• Proficiency with hand and powered tools.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Willingness to work overtime or shifts.

Responsabilidades

• Perform routine preventative maintenance on all industrial machinery and equipment according to schedules.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on production machinery.
• Install, maintain, and repair electrical control systems, motors, and associated equipment.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics to perform maintenance and repair tasks.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and minimize production disruptions.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency breakdowns.
• Maintain a clean and organized maintenance workshop and work areas.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and time spent.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during maintenance operations.
• Assist in commissioning of new equipment and machinery.
