Placements24 is seeking a hands-on Industrial Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair critical machinery at facilities in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. You will address mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime and ensure smooth plant operations.

The role requires reading blueprints, performing preventative maintenance, and collaborating with a maintenance team while upholding strict safety standards. A proactive approach and commitment to quality are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Industrial Maintenance Technician in manufacturing or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits and hydraulics.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and technical manuals.
• Experience with welding, fabrication and machining is advantageous.
• Commitment to safety and proactive hazard identification.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on industrial machinery.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic system failures promptly.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify root causes of equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations on-site.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment as required.
