Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Maintenance Planner & Scheduler in Upington, Northern Cape to coordinate preventive maintenance, plan work orders and manage parts inventory across industrial equipment.

The role utilizes CMMS tools (SAP PM, Maximo, Infor EAM) to track orders, maintenance history and equipment reliability, and requires a National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with 3 years' experience.

Qualifications

• National Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years in maintenance planning, scheduling, or coordination in an industrial/manufacturing setting.
• Proficiency with CMMS software (SAP PM, Maximo, Infor EAM).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Excellent organizational, planning and time management skills.
• Ability to read technical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Good communication and cross-department collaboration abilities.
• Knowledge of inventory management principles.
• Commitment to safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for all industrial equipment.
• Plan and schedule all corrective, preventive, and project-related maintenance work orders.
• Identify required labor, parts, tools, and equipment for scheduled jobs.
• Ensure efficient utilization of maintenance personnel and contractors.
• Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring availability of critical components.
• Utilize CMMS software to track work orders, maintenance history, and equipment performance.
• Liaise with production departments to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize disruption.
• Assist in the development and review of maintenance procedures and safety guidelines.
• Prepare reports on maintenance performance, costs, and equipment reliability.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations related to maintenance activities.
