Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Machinery Maintenance Engineer in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal, to optimize operational efficiency and reliability of advanced manufacturing equipment. You will lead predictive and preventive maintenance, diagnose complex issues, and collaborate with production and vendors to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

Degree or diploma in mechanical/electrical engineering with relevant maintenance coursework.
Experience maintaining CNC, automated lines, and heavy machinery.
Strong diagnostic and analytical capabilities with safety focus.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all industrial machinery and equipment.
Conduct thorough inspections and diagnostics to identify potential failures, performance issues, and safety hazards.
Perform repairs and overhauls on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Troubleshoot malfunctions and minimize production downtime.
Collaborate with production supervisors to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.
Maintain CMMS records of all maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment performance.
Source and manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability for timely repairs.
Stay updated on new maintenance technologies and advocate process improvements.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during maintenance.
