About the Role

Our client, a large-scale industrial manufacturing group operating in Benoni, Gauteng, is looking for an experienced Industrial Engineering Manager to lead their operations team. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of industrial engineering within the division, focusing on optimizing production processes, improving operational efficiency, and implementing strategic engineering initiatives. You will lead a team of industrial engineers, driving projects related to capacity planning, workflow design, cost reduction, and quality enhancement. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in industrial engineering management, a strong strategic vision, and a proven ability to deliver results in a demanding manufacturing setting. This is a critical role within a prominent industrial hub in Gauteng, offering significant impact and career growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the industrial engineering department, setting strategic goals and overseeing project execution.
• Develop and implement comprehensive operational improvement strategies using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies.
• Oversee the design and optimization of production lines, workflows, and facility layouts to maximize efficiency and throughput.
• Manage capacity planning, resource allocation, and capital investment justifications for operational enhancements.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives through process analysis, waste elimination, and productivity improvements.
• Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards across all operational areas.
• Mentor, train, and develop the industrial engineering team, fostering a high-performance culture.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with at least 5 years in a management or leadership role.
• Proven track record of leading successful operational improvement initiatives in a large-scale manufacturing environment.
• Expertise in Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies (Black Belt certification highly desirable), and project management.
• Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting, cost analysis, and ROI calculations.
• Exceptional leadership, team management, and strategic planning skills.
