About the Role

Our client, a major industrial player in Pretoria, Gauteng, is actively seeking a results-driven Industrial Engineer to serve as a Project Lead. This position is integral to spearheading major capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness across their manufacturing facilities. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, a profound understanding of industrial engineering principles, and a proven ability to manage complex projects from inception to completion. This role requires a significant presence on-site in Pretoria to effectively oversee project execution, collaborate with operational teams, and ensure successful implementation of process enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage industrial engineering projects, ensuring adherence to scope, budget, and timelines.
• Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, risk assessment, and stakeholder management.
• Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and technological upgrades.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and methodologies to drive efficiency and eliminate waste.
• Oversee the design and installation of new equipment and production lines.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, R&D, and supply chain.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of professional experience in industrial engineering, with at least 3 years in a project leadership role.
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale industrial engineering projects.
• Expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred), and project management methodologies (PMP certification is a plus).
