Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Industrial Engineer to join the Richards Bay production team. You will analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, and implement lean improvements to boost throughput and reduce costs.

You will also develop SOPs and collaborate with supervisors to drive adoption of new processes. The role requires 2–4 years in industrial engineering, a strong lean background (5S/Kaizen/VSM), and excellent data analysis and Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 2–4 years in an industrial engineering role, preferably in production.
• Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, VSM).
• Proficiency in data analysis and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with production scheduling and ERP systems is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production processes to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
• Develop and implement process improvements to increase productivity and reduce waste.
• Conduct time and motion studies to optimize workstation layouts and material flow.
• Collaborate with production supervisors to implement changes and ensure adoption.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for production activities.
• Monitor KPIs for production efficiency and quality.
• Assist in planning and implementing new equipment and production lines.
• Troubleshoot production issues with maintenance teams to resolve them.
• Maintain accurate production records and generate reports on efficiency metrics.
