Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an Industrial Engineer to optimize plant operations in Mossel Bay. You will analyze production processes, identify bottlenecks, and design cost-effective improvements to boost quality and reduce waste.

You will lead process design, SOP development, and cross-functional collaboration with maintenance and operations to raise reliability and efficiency, while leveraging Lean tools and data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in an industrial engineering role, preferably in manufacturing.
• Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and practical application.
• Proficiency in process simulation and data analysis software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure and train teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production workflows, equipment performance, and resource allocation to identify efficiency improvements.
• Design, implement, and document new or modified manufacturing processes and plant layouts.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) to reduce waste and optimize operations.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and training materials for production personnel.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to troubleshoot equipment issues and improve reliability.
• Monitor KPIs and report on production efficiency, costs, and quality metrics.
