Placements24 is seeking an experienced Operations Industrial Engineer for our manufacturing facility in Rustenburg, South Africa. The role focuses on improving efficiency, productivity, and cost‑effectiveness across production lines and operational systems.

You will analyze workflows, implement Lean and Six Sigma‑based process improvements, map processes, train staff, and monitor KPIs to drive sustained performance in a hands‑on, on‑site role.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field required.
Minimum 5 years in industrial engineering within manufacturing/heavy industry.
Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies.
Proficiency in process mapping, data analysis and performance measurement.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies, waste, and improvement opportunities.
Design, develop, and implement process improvements and workflow optimizations.
Study labor, materials, and machine utilization to boost productivity and reduce costs.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and skilled Operations Industrial Engineer to join their established manufacturing facility in Rustenburg . This role is central to improving the overall efficiency and productivity of our production lines and operational systems. You will be responsible for analyzing workflows, implementing process improvements, and ensuring that our manufacturing operations meet the highest standards of quality and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, possesses strong analytical capabilities, and thrives in a dynamic production environment. This position requires a dedicated professional committed to optimizing industrial processes on-site.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze production data to identify areas of inefficiency, waste, and potential for improvement in current operations.
Design, develop, and implement process improvements, new equipment installations, and workflow optimizations.
Conduct detailed studies on labor, materials, and machine utilization to enhance productivity and reduce costs.
Develop and maintain operational documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process flow diagrams.
Work closely with production staff and management to train them on new processes and ensure effective implementation.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production output, efficiency, and quality.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related technical field.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial engineering within a manufacturing or heavy industry setting.
