Job summary
Placements24 is seeking an Electrical Engineering Technologist for our client in Tembisa. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting and improving electrical systems to maximise uptime in a manufacturing environment.
You will read schematics, work with motor control and PLCs, and support installation and commissioning of new equipment while upholding strict electrical safety standards.
Qualifications
- National Diploma or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering Technology.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Engineering Technologist, preferably in manufacturing/industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor control, and PLC programming.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support for operation and maintenance of electrical equipment and systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues to minimize downtime and ensure safe operations.
- Assist in installation, modification, and commissioning of electrical machinery and control systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventative maintenance on electrical installations and equipment.
- Develop and update electrical diagrams and maintenance logs.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and company policies.
