Job summary

Placements24 invites applications for an Industrial Electrical Technician to join our client in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial electrical equipment to minimize downtime and optimize plant performance.

You will work with motor controls, PLCs, and VSDs, reading schematics and wiring diagrams, while following strict safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices on the plant floor.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical qualification (e.g., N3 Electrical Engineering, Trade Test Certificate).
• Proven experience as an Industrial Electrical Technician.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, PLCs, and VSDs.
• Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams and technical documentation.
• Experience with lockout/tagout procedures and working safely in an industrial environment.
• Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative repairs on industrial electrical equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults and failures in plant machinery and control systems.
• Install, test, and commission new electrical equipment and systems according to specifications.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures while working on the plant floor.
• Respond promptly to electrical emergencies and troubleshoot issues to restore operations quickly in Richards Bay.
