Job summary

PepsiCo South Africa in Ceres, Western Cape, is seeking an experienced Site Logistics Lead to oversee inbound logistics, warehousing and inventory accuracy to ensure uninterrupted production. You will translate site priorities into actionable logistics plans and lead a SAP-driven control environment.

Responsibilities include governance of goods receipt, stock adjustments, cost control and KPI reporting, while developing the logistics team and ensuring compliance with EHS and food-safety

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management or a related discipline.
• 5–8 years of progressive logistics, warehouse, inventory or supply chain experience in FMCG or manufacturing.
• 3+ years in a people-leadership or supervisory role.
• Advanced working knowledge of SAP inventory processes, preferably SAP MM/WM.

Responsibilities

• Lead inbound logistics, warehousing, inventory-control and material-handling activities to ensure safe, accurate and uninterrupted supply to manufacturing operations.
• Determine inventory-control priorities and implement governance for goods receipt, storage, staging, issuing, returns, transfers, cycle counting, reconciliation and stock adjustments.

• Manage logistics operating costs and service-provider performance, validate expenditure and support budget planning.
• Lead, coach and develop team members through workforce planning, performance management and succession planning.
• Ensure compliance with PepsiCo policies, food-safety and quality requirements, EHS standards, audits and regulatory controls.
• Lead supplier, transporter and service-provider issue resolution and escalation of delivery failures.

Overview

• Lead and control the site inbound logistics, warehousing, inventory and material-flow activities to ensure uninterrupted production, accurate stock, safe operations and cost-effective service delivery.


• Translate supply chain and site priorities into logistics plans, controls, performance routines and improvement initiatives that optimize inventory, working capital, warehouse capacity and operational efficiency.


• Provide decision-making leadership across material availability, inventory risk, supplier and transporter performance, stock integrity, compliance and contingency planning.


• Lead, coach and develop the logistics team, establish clear performance standards and build capability to deliver safety, quality, service, cost and people objectives.


• Act as the site subject-matter lead for SAP inventory processes, warehouse controls, stock governance and logistics reporting, while partnering with Planning, Procurement, Production, Quality, Finance, Engineering and EHS.

• Own logistics performance routines and KPIs, investigate deviations, lead root-cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective and preventive actions.


• Manage logistics operating costs and service-provider performance, validate expenditure, identify savings opportunities and support budget planning and cost control.


• Lead, coach and develop direct and indirect team members through workforce planning, performance management, capability building, succession planning, engagement and consistent application of people practices.


• Ensure compliance with PepsiCo policies, food-safety and quality requirements, EHS standards, statutory requirements, segregation-of-duties controls and internal or external audit requirements.


• Lead supplier, transporter and service-provider issue resolution, including escalation of delivery failures, non-conforming materials, capacity constraints and repeated service deviations.


• Develop and maintain logistics contingency and business-continuity plans for supply interruptions, system downtime, warehouse constraints, equipment failure and exceptional production demand.


• Sponsor continuous-improvement and digital enablement initiatives that standardize processes, strengthen SAP and warehouse controls, improve productivity and reduce waste, damage, demurrage and inventory losses.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management or a related discipline.


• Typically, 5 to 8 years of progressive logistics, warehouse, inventory or supply chain experience in an FMCG or manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years in a people-leadership or supervisory role.


• Demonstrated accountability for inventory control, warehouse operations, supplier or transporter performance and operational service delivery.


• Advanced working knowledge of SAP inventory processes, preferably SAP MM/WM or equivalent warehouse-management systems.


• Strong understanding of inventory accounting controls, cycle counting, stock reconciliation, traceability, FIFO/FEFO principles and audit governance.


• Experience in budget control, cost analysis, KPI management, root-cause analysis and continuous-improvement delivery.


• Ability to interpret operational and financial data, identify risk and convert analysis into clear decisions and action plans.


• Knowledge of food safety, quality, EHS and regulatory requirements relevant to logistics and warehousing.
