Job summary

PepsiCo in Western Cape seeks an experienced inbound logistics coordinator to translate the production plan into actionable shift priorities, overseeing receiving, storage, issuing and stock rotation. You will monitor SAP/PGT/EWM transactions, perform cycle counts, investigate discrepancies and escalate constraints to the Logistics Controller.

The role requires a relevant diploma or certificate in logistics, 3–5 years FMCG experience, and strong Excel/reporting skills to drive safety, quality

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shift inbound logistics execution: receiving, inspection, storage, staging, issuing, and stock rotation.
• Allocate daily work, communicate priorities, monitor completion and escalate constraints.
• Ensure accurate SAP/PGT/EWM transactions and supporting docs (goods receipts, transfers, issues, returns).
• Coordinate cycle counts, investigate variances, reconcile and recommend actions.
• Monitor material availability against the production plan and coordinate replenishment.
• Control handling of damaged/obsolete/non-conforming stock with proper traceability.
• Coordinate inbound vehicles and service providers for safe, compliant delivery.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, EHS, hygiene and warehouse standards and raise non-compliant issues.
• Prepare shift reports, KPI updates, handovers and escalation summaries.
• Support team capability, root-cause analysis and continuous-improvement initiatives.

Overview

• Coordinate inbound logistics activities during the assigned shift to ensure the safe, accurate and timely receipt, storage, movement, issuing and return of raw materials, ingredients, packaging and consumables.
• Translate the daily logistics and production plan into clear work priorities, allocate activities to team members and monitor execution against safety, quality, service and productivity requirements.
• Maintain inventory and transactional control by ensuring timely and accurate SAP/PGT/EWM processing, documentation, stock rotation, traceability, cycle counting and discrepancy follow-up.
• Act as the first point of escalation for operational constraints, delivery deviations, material shortages, system issues, damaged or non-conforming stock and warehouse-capacity concerns.
• Support the Logistics Controller through accurate reporting, problem solving, team coordination, audit readiness and implementation of continuous-improvement actions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor material availability against the production plan, identify shortages or excesses and coordinate replenishment, staging, decanting and escalation actions.
• Control handling of damaged, expired, obsolete, blocked or non‑conforming material, ensuring segregation, traceability, documentation and timely disposition.
• Coordinate inbound vehicles, transporters and service providers to achieve safe, compliant and efficient delivery, offloading and turnaround performance.
• Monitor compliance with EHS, food‑safety, GMP, hygiene, housekeeping, storage and material‑handling standards, and stop or elevate unsafe or non‑compliant activity.
• Prepare accurate shift reports, KPI updates, handovers and escalation summaries covering stock, service, system, safety, quality and operational risks.
• Support team capability, coaching, standard work, root‑cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous‑improvement initiatives to improve flow, control, productivity and service.

Qualifications

• Relevant diploma, certificate or equivalent practical qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Warehousing, Inventory Management or Operations.
• Typically, 3 to 5 years of inbound logistics, warehouse or stock-control experience in an FMCG or manufacturing environment.
• Practical experience coordinating daily or shift activities and allocating work to frontline employees or service-provider resources.
• Working knowledge of SAP/PGT/EWM or an equivalent enterprise and warehouse-management system.
• Competence in inventory transactions, stock reconciliation, cycle counting, FIFO/FEFO, traceability, material handling and audit documentation.
• Intermediate Excel and reporting capability, with the ability to interpret operational data and identify exceptions.
• Knowledge of GMP, food safety, quality, cleaning and sanitation, EHS and warehouse compliance requirements.
• Experience resolving operational issues, escalating risk and supporting root‑cause and continuous-improvement processes.
