Job summary

PEP Imports Graduate Internship in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town for a 9-12 month contract. You will assist with creating import shipments, documenting processes, reporting, and liaising with clearing agents to ensure customs compliance.

The role requires a degree or diploma in Supply Chain or related fields, strong administration skills, and computer literacy. Imports/exports experience is preferred, and the internship is market-related.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, or a Bachelor of Commerce in Supply Chain and Operations Management.
• Experience in imports/exports preferred.
• Strong administration skills and computer literacy.
• 9-12 month contract.

Responsibilities

• Create import shipments and documentary Letters of Credit.
• Reporting and supplier communication.
• Liaising with Clearing and Forwarding agents on exceptions.
• Ensure imports documents are accurate and customs compliant.
• Follow up on outstanding documents from suppliers.
• Follow up on pro-forma and orders not released.
• Update shipment module on PLM database.
• Track, trace and prioritize import shipments.
• Control imports schedule with containers docking for delivery to DC.
• Assist with weekly and month-end reports.
• Assist with special projects.
• General office administration (filing, updating reports, emails).
