Job summary

DHL Global Forwarding is seeking an Afr Imports Controller in the Eastern Cape. The role requires coordinating imports with an emphasis on customs procedures, documentation, and both sea and airfreight operations. You will liaise with clients, agents, and service providers while maintaining sharp attention to detail.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in freight forwarding or logistics, excellent MS Excel skills and the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines under pressure.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in freight forwarding, customs, shipping or logistics.
• Knowledge of import/export procedures and customs documentation.
• Experience with sea and airfreight operations.
• Ability to coordinate container movements and depot activities.
• Strong administration and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Excel and MS Office; able to handle deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate container movements, transportation and depot activities.
• Prepare and track shipments, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Liaise with clients, agents, shipping lines and service providers.
• Maintain accuracy in documentation and compliance with regulations.
• Monitor multiple shipments simultaneously and manage priorities.
• Utilise Shipshape/Navis to optimize operations when applicable.
