Job summary

Klipboard is seeking a senior ERP finance implementation consultant to lead end-to-end finance projects for diverse clients in South Africa. You will train customers, configure Accounts modules, and ensure smooth go-lives with strong problem-solving and clear communication.

The role requires 5+ years in ERP finance projects, travel across SA, and a collaborative, client-focused mindset within a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

  • ERP finance implementation experience across multiple end-to-end projects.
  • ERP consultancy experience (5+ years) with strong customer-facing skills.
  • Finance/Accounting background and related qualifications are expected.
  • Clear, concise communication—verbal and written.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites across South Africa with a valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Accounts application training & consultancy for customers.
  • Lead pre-live and go-live activities including documentation and checklists.
  • Resolve customer problems arising from implementation and live operation of standard or modified software.
  • Attend project meetings to share knowledge and document status.

This role is responsible for the installation and setup of systems, to advise both consultants and customers on the use of accounts specific software modules for their business. The role requires experience of all accounting business practise including General Ledger: Chart of Accounts, Groupings, Postings, Journals, Cash Book, Period Ends. Accounts Payable: Account Creation, Enquiries, Expenses, Invoices, Invoice Matching, Payments. Accounts Receivable: Credit Applications, Account Creation, Enquiries, Credit Release. Customer Payments, Credit Chasing. Accounts Ledger: Branch Setup, Assets, Posting Tables, Asset Reports. Auditing, Intrastat, Reports, Reconciliation

Key Responsibilities
  • To provide Accounts and associated applications training and demonstration including undertaking demonstrations to support pre-sale consultancy.
  • To provide Accounts application training & consultancy for the customer.
  • To take responsibility within an implementation to ensure all customer documentation is completed and that a pre live check list is completed and that the customer is ready to go live.
  • To resolve, or assist in the resolution, of customer problems and queries arising from the implementation and subsequent live operation of standard or modified software at customer sites.
  • To attend project meetings when required, internally or with clients, to gain or impart knowledge on status of projects and to document details when appropriate.
  • To assist the finance support function at all times on current or previously implemented systems, as and when required, by taking support calls from clients when appropriate. Processing support calls when assigned to Support work duties, this can be office based or working remotely.
  • To liaise with the customers to define, or help define, requirements, specifications for modifications to the software.
  • To assist the development team with understanding of specifications during the development of modifications and subsequently test and document developed changes.
  • To train colleagues in the operation of modified software, as and when required, to ensure a smooth hand over of projects to the support function.
  • To train the customer’s project team and provide knowledge transfer in the operation of modified software, as and when required.
  • To cover for colleagues, as and when required, in all areas where knowledge overlaps, and to undertake other such duties as may reasonably be requested.
  • Production and submission of consultancy documentation in line with company procedures and submitted in a timely manner. Timesheet completion in line with company procedures.
How We Work

  • Continuous improvement: you’ll share feedback with our Centre of Excellence and Management teams to enhance methodology, tooling, and outcomes.
Skills, Knowledge And Experience
  • ERP finance implementation experience with multiple successful end‑to‑end projects.
  • ERP consultancy experience (typically 5+ years) with strong customer‑facing skills.
  • Finance/Accounting background (qualification and c. 5+ years’ finance role experience or equivalent).
  • Clear, concise communication—verbal and written—with the ability to influence and simplify complexity.
  • Strong organisation and resilience in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments; proactive problem‑solver.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites across South Africa, as required; a valid driving licence appropriate for use in South Africa is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
  • Comprehension of AI tools and how to use them to reduce delivery time and effort
Nice to have
  • Expertise in advanced ERP One finance modules and adjacent processes (e.g., costing, revenue recognition, multi‑entity, multi‑currency).
  • Deep knowledge of ERP One core finance processes and related best practices.
  • Exposure to enterprise‑scale implementations with complex integrations and data migration.
How you’ll grow and what success looks like (6-12 months)
  • You’re the go‑to expert for advanced ERP One finance capabilities and a named Capability Lead with clear documentation in place.
  • You’ve led multiple finance workstreams to go‑live with strong customer satisfaction and predictable commercial outcomes.
  • You’re mentoring consultants, raising delivery standards, and improving repeatability across projects.
