Job summary

Colonial Group invites applications for an Industrial Engineer Intern to support continuous improvement on the shop floor. You will assist with root cause analysis, problem solving, data collection and time & method studies to clarify issues and implement effective solutions.

Qualifications

• Industrial Engineering diploma or degree completed.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills.

• Support root cause analysis and problem solving with implemented solutions.
• Handle varied ad-hoc engagements, analyses and investigations.
• Assist Lean KPI implementation and sustainable shopfloor management.
• Conduct operational analysis and data collection (Time & Method studies).
• Create SOPs and work instructions.
• Train employees on 5S, LEAN, SOPs and plant procedures.
• Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements.

INDUSTRIAL ENGINEER INTERN

Qualification:

• Industrial Engineering Diploma/Degree (completed).

Job Specification:

• Support with root cause analysis and clarification of day-to-day problems with solutions implemented.
• Varied Ad-hoc engagements, analysis & investigations.
• Support in the implementation of lean KPIs and a sustainable shopfloor management.
• Operational analysis and data collection (Time & Method studies).
• Creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Work Instructions.
• Training of employees (5S, LEAN, SOP / Work Instruction, Plant procedures).
• Assist/Coordinate the identification and implementation of process optimizations / Improvements.

Requirements:

• Good computer skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Ability to multitask.
• Good organizational skills (planning) are essential.
• Trade test in mechanical/electrical would be an advantage.
• Excellent analytical skills and interpreting excel spreadsheets.
• A technical and/or Automotive background would be a huge advantage.
• Knowledge of paint processes and paint chemistry would be an advantage.
• Own transport essential as shift work could be required from time to time.
• The ideal candidate to carry out this central function must be motivated, able to work autonomously, must be proactive and flexible.
