Job summary

Bolton Footwear in Cape Town is seeking a motivated Industrial Engineer Intern to join our Elsies River team. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in continuous improvement, process optimisation, data analysis and productivity projects within a manufacturing setting.

The successful candidate will support manufacturing processes, assist with equipment maintenance and documentation, and collaborate with production, maintenance and quality teams to achieve operational goals.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Industrial engineering or a related engineering qualification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monitoring and improving manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
• Support in identifying and resolving production and equipment-related issues.
• Collect, analyse, and report on production and process performance data.
• Participate in continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
• Assist with equipment inspections, maintenance activities, and troubleshooting.
• Prepare and update technical documentation, reports, work instructions, and SOPs.
• Support quality assurance activities and ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.
• Assist with Adhoc projects, including planning, tracking, and implementation as required.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams to achieve operational goals.
• Perform administrative and technical duties as assigned by the Manager.
