About the Role

Our client, a leading food production company, is seeking a meticulous and reliable Hygiene Operative to join their team in Bloemfontein, Free State. The Hygiene Operative will be responsible for performing cleaning and sanitation duties on production equipment, machinery, and work areas. Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all cleaning activities comply with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP principles) and company policies.
• Operate cleaning equipment and use cleaning chemicals safely and effectively.
• Monitor and report any potential contamination risks or deviations from hygiene standards.
• Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities performed.
• Assist in maintaining an inventory of cleaning supplies and chemicals.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a cleaning or hygiene role, preferably within the food and beverage manufacturing industry.
• Understanding of hygiene principles and food safety standards (HACCP knowledge is a strong advantage).
• Ability to follow instructions precisely and work effectively within a team.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
• Basic understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Physical ability to perform manual cleaning tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting.
• Reliability and punctuality are essential.
• Willingness to work shifts, which may include early mornings, evenings, or weekends as required by production schedules.
• Must reside in or be able to commute to Bloemfontein, Free State.
