About the Role

Our client requires a meticulous Hygiene Officer to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation within their Durban -based food production facility. This critical role focuses on implementing, monitoring, and enforcing hygiene protocols to prevent contamination and ensure food safety compliance. You will work closely with production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to uphold rigorous hygiene standards throughout the facility. This position demands a strong understanding of food safety regulations, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in hygiene practices, safeguarding product integrity and regulatory adherence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive hygiene management systems and cleaning schedules.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of production areas, equipment, and staff practices to ensure compliance.
• Monitor and control the use of cleaning chemicals and disinfectants, ensuring correct application and storage.
• Investigate and report on any hygiene-related non-conformances or incidents.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification or certification in food safety, microbiology, or a related field.
