Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Process Design Engineer for a hybrid role in Benoni, Gauteng, South Africa. You will lead process design for water and wastewater plants, perform mass and energy balances, and select technologies while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Collaboration with civil, mechanical, and electrical teams is essential for project success. You will contribute to proposals, participate in site visits, and support construction through commissioning, drawing on 6+ years in the

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Environmental Engineering.
6+ years of experience in process design for water and wastewater treatment.
Experience with membrane technologies (RO, UF, MBR) desirable.
Proficiency in process simulation and CAD tools; knowledge of environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

Lead the process design of water and wastewater treatment plants, including PFDs and P&IDs.
Perform mass and energy balances, hydraulic calculations, and equipment sizing.
Select technologies and equipment for treatment applications and prepare technical specifications.
Collaborate with project managers and other engineers; support during construction and commissioning.
