Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Process Engineer in Upington, Northern Cape to design, implement, and optimize chemical processes for industrial water treatment. You will troubleshoot operations, monitor performance, and work with field teams to ensure efficient dosing and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a strong background in water chemistry and chemical engineering, with at least four years of experience in water treatment or chemical applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in process engineering, with a focus on water treatment or chemical applications.
• Strong knowledge of water chemistry, chemical dosing systems, and process control.
• Experience with troubleshooting industrial processes and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize chemical processes for industrial water treatment systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in water treatment plants and chemical application systems.
• Monitor system performance, analyze data, and recommend improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and safety standards.
• Provide technical support and guidance to field service technicians and clients.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including P&IDs and operational manuals.
• Conduct site assessments and recommend appropriate chemical treatment programs.
• Participate in pilot studies for new treatment technologies or chemical applications.
• Collaborate with sales and engineering teams on project proposals and solutions.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and advancements in water treatment and chemical applications.
