Placements24 is seeking a Senior Chemical Engineer in Mahikeng, North West to optimize water treatment processes and develop innovative chemical solutions for industrial partners.

You will analyze, design, and troubleshoot water treatment systems, ensuring efficient chemical usage and environmental compliance while supporting clients and internal teams with technical expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years in chemical process engineering with a focus on industrial water treatment.
• Strong knowledge of water chemistry and advanced treatment techniques.
• Experience with process simulation and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with dosing equipment and control systems.

Responsabilités

• Analyze and optimize existing water treatment processes (clarification, filtration, ion exchange, membranes).
• Design/specify chemical treatment programs and dosing systems for industrial applications.
• Troubleshoot process issues and identify root causes of deviations.
• Conduct feasibility studies and pilot testing for new technologies and formulations.
• Develop/maintain process documentation (P&IDs, SOPs, performance reports).
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver effective solutions.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations on water discharge/chemical handling.
• Evaluate improvements to chemical supply chains/inventory management.
• Monitor process performance metrics and implement continuous improvements.

About the Role

Our client, a leader in industrial water management and chemical processing solutions, is seeking a highly capable Senior Chemical Engineer to join their team in Mahikeng, North West. This role focuses on optimizing water treatment processes and developing innovative chemical solutions for industrial applications. You will be responsible for process analysis, design improvements, and troubleshooting to ensure efficient and cost-effective water management and chemical usage for our client's diverse industrial partners. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in water chemistry, chemical process design, and analytical techniques, coupled with excellent problem-solving abilities. This is a key position contributing to operational efficiency and environmental sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and optimize existing water treatment processes, including clarification, filtration, ion exchange, and membrane technologies.
• Design and specify chemical treatment programs and dosing systems for various industrial applications.

Requirements

• Experience with process simulation and data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with chemical dosing equipment and control systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage client relationships.
• Understanding of environmental regulations pertaining to water quality and discharge.
• Must hold valid work authorization for South Africa.
