Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Tour Guide or in a customer-facing role.
• In-depth knowledge of Soweto and Johannesburg history and landmarks.
• Excellent storytelling and public speaking abilities.
• Fluent in English; knowledge of another local language is advantageous.

This role requires an individual who can blend on-site guiding with remote preparation and communication, ensuring an exceptional experience for visitors. You will be responsible for developing and delivering informative and entertaining tours, sharing insights into the rich heritage and vibrant present of the area. The ideal candidate is a natural storyteller, possesses excellent communication skills, and can adapt to a hybrid work model, balancing field responsibilities with administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Tour Guide or in a customer-facing role with a strong focus on local knowledge.

• Excellent storytelling and public speaking abilities.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a hybrid schedule.
• Fluency in English and at least one other local language is advantageous.
