Placements24 is seeking a Telecommunications Installation Engineer in Bloemfontein for a hybrid role combining on-site installations with remote support. You will deploy and maintain telecom infrastructure and ensure network integrity while collaborating with clients and project managers.
The ideal candidate holds a technical degree and demonstrates hands-on experience with fiber optics, copper cabling, and wireless systems, along with diagnostic and monitoring tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
- Proven experience in telecommunications installation and network engineering.
- Strong knowledge of fiber optics, copper cabling and wireless systems.
- Proficiency with network diagnostic tools and monitoring software.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment at client locations.
- Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for network issues.
- Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on telecommunications infrastructure.
- Interpret network diagrams and technical specifications for accurate installations.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to define scope and timelines.
- Document installation, maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
