Placements24 in Centurion is seeking a skilled Structural Engineer to join our design team on a hybrid basis, working on diverse building projects from concept to completion. You will ensure structural integrity and collaborate with architects, project managers, and construction teams to deliver safe, efficient designs.

You will perform analyses, prepare drawings and calculations, visit construction sites, review submittals, and ensure compliance with SANS and Eurocodes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on building design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro).
• Strong understanding of building codes and standards (e.g., SANS, Eurocodes).
• Experience with concrete, steel, and masonry building materials.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for hybrid work environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural systems for new buildings and renovations, including foundations, beams, columns, and slabs.
• Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations using advanced engineering software.
• Collaborate with architects and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated and efficient designs.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and address any structural issues that arise.
• Review and approve shop drawings and submittals from contractors.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
