Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Industrial Production Planner in the Port Elizabeth area to oversee end-to-end production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation. You will collaborate with procurement, production, and logistics to ensure on-time delivery and optimal output.

The role requires 5+ years in production planning within manufacturing, plus strong ERP/MRP experience (SAP/Oracle) and Excel proficiency. Hybrid work setup in Port Elizabeth is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or operations within manufacturing.
• Proven experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for planning and inventory management.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in production planning software and Microsoft Excel.
• Effective communication and coordination across departments.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain detailed production schedules to meet demand forecasts and customer orders.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials and components.
• Collaborate with production floor supervisors to manage workflow and resource allocation.
• Monitor production progress against schedules, identifying and resolving deviations or delays.
• Optimize inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
• Analyze production data to identify trends, improve efficiency, and reduce waste.
• Work with sales and marketing teams to understand demand patterns and plan accordingly.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and production specifications throughout the planning process.
• Prepare regular reports on production status, KPIs, and inventory levels.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within planning and production.
