Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a diligent Internal Auditor to join their team in Polokwane on a hybrid basis. The role involves planning and conducting internal audits to evaluate controls, risk management, and governance processes across the organization.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Auditing, 5 years of audit experience, and professional certifications such as CIA, CISA, or CA(SA) are highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or related field.
• CIA, CISA, or CA(SA) certification desirable.
• Minimum 5 years' auditing experience.
• Strong knowledge of COSO, auditing standards, and risk management principles.
• Proficiency in Excel and audit software.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute internal audits in accordance with the annual audit plan.
• Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes.
• Identify control weaknesses, operational inefficiencies, and areas of non-compliance.
• Develop detailed audit findings, recommendations, and management action plans.
• Communicate audit results and recommendations to management and relevant stakeholders.
• Follow up on the implementation of agreed-upon action plans.
• Conduct special investigations and fraud reviews as required.
• Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging risks, and regulatory changes.
• Maintain audit documentation and work papers in accordance with professional standards.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with auditees and stakeholders.
