Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a vigilant Security Operations Analyst to join the security team in Paarl in a hybrid role. You will monitor the organization's digital environment, analyze alerts, and collaborate with on-site and remote security personnel to protect systems.

You will investigate threats, contribute to incident response, and help refine security procedures in a fast-paced SOC setting, gaining hands-on experience across monitoring tools and security workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Previous IT support experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor security alerts from SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
• Investigate security events and incidents and escalate when needed.
• Analyze logs and network traffic for signs of malicious activity.
• Assist in maintaining and tuning security monitoring tools.
• Support incident response activities and documentation.
• Contribute to developing security operating procedures.
