Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to support operations in Paarl. The role is hybrid, focusing on implementing and monitoring safety programs across sites in the oil and gas sector.

You will conduct inspections, training, and incident investigations to foster a safe working environment. Ideal candidates have SAMTRAC or NEBOSH and at least 3 years of relevant experience, with strong knowledge of safety legislation and reporting systems.

Qualifikationen

• Relevant qualification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., SAMTRAC, NEBOSH).
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the oil and gas or related industrial sector.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant safety legislation and industry standards.
• Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop safety management plans.
• Proficiency in safety reporting and record-keeping systems.

Aufgaben

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
• Deliver safety training programs to employees and contractors.
• Maintain safety records and prepare reports for management and regulatory bodies.
• Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
